Tasmanian Quilt Guild Raffle Quilt
Earlier this year I custom quilted this lovely quilt for the Tasmanian Quilting Guild 2009 Island Quilts Raffle. It was made by the lovely girls up in Smithton (Tas) and quilted by me.
The Raffle Tickets are available for purchase now ... the quilt is quite big - Queen Sized - so a $2.00 will be very well spent for the person who wins it!
See the Guild Web site at www.tasquilting.org.au
Cheers for now...Jane

Dolls Dolls and more Dolls
This is my latest doll ... the one I will be teaching. She is called "Fleur" the Garden Faerie. I had a lot of Fun making her ... even down to the little shoes.
This blue faerie is Daowyn ... by Pattie Culea http://www.pmcdesigns.com/- I have been down to Hobart on a four day class with her .. I still have to do her shoulder cuffs, shoes and wrist cuffs ... but she is pretty cute too. Lots of embellishments with this one and I had to make all those bead creations as well! And I met some fantastic ladies at the Hobart Not Just Cloth Doll's Club ... I hope to go down again to see them sometime.
My darling husband has gone for 2.5 weeks ... off to Sydney for the Ulysses AGM. I wish I could have gone too this year ... but next year we are going to Albany in Western Australia.
And this is a cat fix .... Jet and Merlin in a paper bag. They just love bags and I have to make sure there are no plastic bags laying around when I am not in the house with them because they will just go and sit in them. Our big cat Shadow is finally coming around I think ... she has been nose to nose with Merlin a couple of times now without chucking a hissy fit... I live in hope!
So .... back to quilting again tomorrow ... keeping me busy with some Vic fire quilts as well.
Happy quilting until next time....Cheers Jane xx

It's been a busy week or so
Over the past little while I have been quilting more quilts for those affected in the Victoria fires - here are some pictures.
This is the backing of the blue and white quilt - I have had this fabric for quite awhile and absolutely love it - reminds me of Aboriginal paintings.
Last Saturday I had a small exhibition at the Exeter Show - local show - had a great day and a lot of people asked questions and stopped for a chat which was lovely. My Journal covers were a great hit with a lot of people expressing interest in doing a class with me - have dates booked now and just need to get the numbers.
This is a nice stack of my quilts ... can't believe I have so many. But they are for sale if anyone is interested.
My fur babies are now 5 months old and have grown quite a lot ... still full of naughtiness though!
This following weekend I am lucky to be attending a workshop with doll guru Pattie Medaris Culea from the USA. Her dolls are devine and I hope to learn some new tricks, especially dying silk. I have made up a doll in silk for the class and we will be dying the doll, rather than the fabric before the doll is made ... very exciting! I will post some pics once I return next week. My husband is holding down the fort and looking after the fur babies and our human baby (not that a 16 year old is a baby). I am expecting to come home to a beautiful clean house and cooked meal - I will probably get the cooked meal though not any cleaning faires - lol!.
So Happy Quilting until next time .... I hope to be able to get back to my Dear Jane quilt blocks very soon... Jane
